Phanaeng de puta madre. Tom yam kung in your mouth so sweet and savory. And 900 characters (with spaces) is simply not enough, so straight to it: There is no better Thai restaurant in Barcelona. Set on one of precious few and preciously short passageways unique to our fair city, lined with single-family homes and small front gardens, Bangkok Café would be nice to visit without the food. Adding fresh basil, Thai curries and lemon grass just jacks that pleasant adjective into a spicy orbit the Café itself would classify with three red chilies (beware those dishes, españolito). It’s perfect to enter a Thai restaurant through a garden, you know, à la Thailand. And the open kitchen, literally one with the dining era, is reminiscent of a traditional Thai marketplace. Make a reservation. Save a bit of money (it’s not expensive but it’s not cheap) and do yourself a favor and splurge for the Khao neaw ma muang for dessert.
