Vino y Otros Remedios was taken over a couple of years back by Dimitri a humble, charming and passionate Greek gentleman who chooses his words carefully. It’s a bodega, restaurant and wine shop in one, but without a single drop of the pretension you so often find in such venues in the center of Barcelona. Design is not a priority here, and Dimitri has worked long enough in hospitality to know how much it can drain you, how much of yourself you need to give. That’s why he puts such emphasis on the word “ilusión” when asked how things are done there. He loves a good wine, and working more and more directly with bodegas as opposed to distributors, but his real passion is Greek food. It shows. The tapas are outstanding and quintessentially Mediterranean. He declares his choice of olive oil “fundamental”. And in addition to the small, fixed and largely Greek menu he rotates in a few specials each week. The clientele is mixed, chill, and consistently growing. No trends here, just good wine, great food and warm service.
